Love story

How we met

We both were at a house party; we interacted a little at the party but not too much. (We both knew whom each other was but never talked to each other). We were friends on Facebook so I went home and poked him on Facebook. He figured “why not poke her back” we began poking and he messaged me on Facebook basically giving me his number where we began texting. I honestly believed he was just going to be a little fling and nothing more. We text for a couple days before we hung out, a friend and I went over to his house and hung out with him and his roommate. The next day was a holiday (I don’t remember which one. Whichever one is in February lol) so we went to the beach (Splash was our first date). We began dating a week later. We were having a party at his house, messing around and I seriously accidently told him I loved him, before I realized what I had said he told me he loved me too.

Jaxx saves the day

I was moving to Fresno for school, Jon didn’t like the idea of long distance so we broke up after dating for two months. The following four months were off and on until he began dating another girl. They dated for a few short weeks until he called her “Christine” and realized he missed me. Jon began texting me randomly. I would not respond until one day he made sure I would respond. In order to get me to go over to his house, he used our dog (his dog at the time) “Jaxx misses you”, so I went over. I kept my guard up high but a week later we began dating again. Ever since then we have been together for almost four years. We moved into our own house after 2 years.

The Question

We went to Shaver Lake for New Years (2014 going into 2015) with his dad and his step mom. The day before New Year’s Eve we were exploring Shaver Lake, we were overlooking the lake with patches of snow all around us. His dad told us to take a picture (little did I know he was video taping) Jon asked me, “do you know what would make the news year great? If we spent the rest of our lives together”. Jon then got on his knee and asked me to marry him. My response was “what! Are you serious?” before I answered yes!
